Model Type
granary
Description
Quibell/Hayter p.13-4: On further clearing we found to N. of the Canopic box two boats, under them a granary ( 8) and to the S. a human femur and tibia, also a skull. [...] The granary (no. 8) mentioned above, is similar to that illustrated in plate XXV. The door works and has slats in relief on the inside painted red. Opposite the door squats a foreman, stick in hand. One workman holds a corn measure, cylindrical, with three black hoops; another mounts the stair. On the roof is another overseer with a whip: a scribe writes accounts, his pen-case is on the tablet on which are some numbers written, at his right hand are a water jar and three boxes. There is another man seated and yet another standing. In this model had been laid 4 tumbler-shaped pots.
