Material: wood / plaster / paint Provenance: Assiut Category: Statuary Location: Storage Description: : Pair of duck wings plastered and painted, with a peg joint of partially preserved the basis for engagement in the hands of a carrier (?). The anatomical details are rendered graphically by parallel lines painted stucco with red and black on a white background with black edging (denotation of the plumage). -------------------------- This is one example of several similar fragments in Turin Schiaparelli excavated Asyut for the Turin Museum in the early 20th century, but he did not publish his excavations. | |
