Material: wood / plaster / paint Provenance: Assiut Category: Statuary Location: Storage Description: : Remains of a head bearing a basket. Bob hairstyle on which rests a thin circular base and a basket shaped like a truncated pyramid inverted. On the left side of the basket is placed a peg for the likely interlocking joints of the hand of the same side. Surface and is plastered and painted with yellow (skin and bottom of the basket), white (eyes and strap on your head) and black (hair, eyes and grid pattern of the basket). -------------------------- This is one example of several similar fragments in Turin Schiaparelli excavated Asyut for the Turin Museum in the early 20th century, but he did not publish his excavations. | |
