Turin Mus. online cat: Object: statuette of offering bearer Dimension: Height 27 cm., Width 5 cm., Thickness 2.5 cm. Material: wood / plaster / paint Provenance: Assiut Category: Statuary Location: Storage Description: Carved female statuette with left leg advanced and basket on her head. Loss of the upper limbs and left foot. Damaged right foot. Partly preserved are two pegs on the right shoulder, one on the left shoulder and one on the left side of the basket. The figure was originally decorated with a layer of beige (dress?), which is only preserved in traces, and black (hair and eyes) partially preserved. Schiaparelli excavated Asyut for the Turin Museum in the early 20th century, but he did not publish his excavations. | |
