GlobalEgMus: -- Model of a brewing house is on two levels, and surrounded by a wall. On the first level three figures are working; two are seated and one is standing. Between them, there are some jars for storing the beer. On the right there is the door and on the left side there is a staircase leading to the second level where they stored the beer, some objects are missing. The figures are painted red while the external wall is painted brown. According to ostraca, papyri, and the historians, the beer in Ancient Egypt was a popular drink even for children but in small quantities; it was made of barley. width=28 cm. length=35 cm. | |
