man with dog | |
Description | |
Breasted: 2. From Beni Hasan, tomb 487 (of Senbu). Twelfth dynasty. A crude squatting rather ape-like human figure faces an animal which may represent a dog. The theme is probably that of a man playing with a dog, and must be in the same general tradition as the much earlier example from the Old Kingdom. (See also Berlin Museum 13629, Pl. 94d.) Garstang, Burial Customs, fig. 144, right, p. 146. Earthenware. | |
