Qau el-Kebir
A series of cemeteries near the modern village of Qau. The site is midway between Asyut in the north and Akhmim in the south.

These cemeteries are on the fringe of the eastern desert. They contains tombs dating from the Naqada period to the New Kingdom and later, including large rock-cut tombs of the Twelth dynasty .
As described in Digital Egypt, Qau is the southernmost of a string of sites along the edge of the eastern desert that were excavated in the mid-twentieth century -- Qau-Badari-Mostagedda-Matmar
