Description
GlobalEgMus web page: This model depicts nine servants working in a brewery. Seven stages of brewing shown. From barley flour is kneaded into dough. Next, the brewers bake loaves Over an open fire in conical pottery moulds. These loaves are soaked in water to which sweeteners have been added. The soaked loaves are fermented, and then filtered over a large barrel. The beer thus produced is poured into large earthenware jars. Finally the jars are closed with a stopper of clay, into which the seal of the brewery is pressed. The lively composition is achieved by the contrast between the yellow and red colors of the figures, the variation of the dark color of the pottery and the dynamic depiction of the characters.
