Description
GlobalEgMus web page: Figurine in beeswax
This object modelled in beeswax belongs to a category of figurines which represent men and woman standing, the arms alongside the body. Certain authors consider them as the precurser to shabtis which appeared from the beginning of the Middle Kingdom. This figurine of a man, of which the proveance is not known with certainty (Gebelein ?), is in a good state of preservation and probably dates from the 11th Dynasty.
