Adapted from Borchardt: Painted statue of a standing servant carrying a basket on her head. Wood. - Height: 0.49 m. - origin unknown. The fingers of the left hand grasp the top of the basket. The right arm is by the side with the forearm extended horizontally with the hand holding a vessel by its base. The feet are together. She wears a long, smooth wig that covers the ears and has braids falling down the chest. Although the figure is carved as if naked, a garment is indicated by painted hems around the ankles and wrists, and from the left shoulder to below the right breast. | |
