Breasted -- 1. Brooklyn Museum, 13.1024 (Pl. 84, 85b). Twelfth dynasty. This small limestone figure is unique in the field of free sculpture. With legs together this female dancer or acrobat has leaned over backwards with -her arms extended straight out behind, so that they support her on the ground. Her hair, traces of which are evident on her left side, where some of the original paint remains, is long, and falls straight down to touch the ground. Base is rectangular and is the same piece of stone as the statuettes.
