Model Type
granary
Description
MFA website: This wooden model granary depicts a single square chamber with four figures inside. They are painted a reddish-brown with short, black wigs and white garments, either short kilts or kilts with a sash over one shoulder. Two figures are seated, one os which originally would have held a board (now on the floor) on his knee. A third is in a standing pose (though not currently affixed upright on the model's base, in part due to one leg being broken off) with a sack on his shoulder. One figure leans forward with a pail on his knee. Only one of the figures still has both arms attached. For all four, arms were carved as separate components from the body and were attached by pegs/dowels. The central board of the floor is missing and has been replaced. All components of the model are in rather battered condition.
